In the heart of Dhaka, air pollution has become more than a daily inconvenience - it’s a slow, invisible killer. The city often tops the list of the most polluted places on Earth, with air so toxic it steals up to 20 months of life expectancy.
According to the World Health Organization:

  • 9 out of 10 people globally breathe polluted air
  • Air pollution causes 7 million deaths each year
  • It's more deadly than malaria, tuberculosis, and AIDS combined

In Bangladesh, motor vehicles and industrial sources contribute to 85% of toxic emissions, with vehicle exhaust alone making up a major portion of that. Babies are dying before they walk, lungs are collapsing before adulthood, and by 2050, our national temperature will rise by up to 2.5°C — further fueling climate collapse. So we asked ourselves: What if every car could filter its own poison?

Introducing O-Zone

A Compact Air Filtration Device that Starts at the Tailpipe

O-Zone is a greenhouse gas filtration device designed to clean emissions at the source — your car, your factory exhaust, your generator. Based on Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) technology, it traps toxic gases and particles before they ever reach the air we breathe.

How It Works

The science is powerful — and proven.

  • The exhaust “wash” enters O-Zone’s chamber
  • High-voltage electrodes ionize harmful molecules like CO, HC, sulfur, and lead
  • Ions are attracted to charged plates and trapped
  • Leftover hydrocarbons are burned and refined
  • What’s released? Significantly cleaner air
  • The collected pollutants can even be recycled into useful materials

O-Zone is powered by just 3.7V, but internally generates up to 400,000V to carry out this process — all compactly housed and safe for vehicles.

O-Zone was tested by the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) and passed with clear results:

  • 43%+ reduction in hydrocarbons
  • 50% reduction in carbon monoxide

  • Certified by BSTI for performance and safety

O-Zone is currently in use on over 15 test vehicles, and has received the National ICT Award (2020) and recognition from NASA Space Apps Challenge.
